Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I'm going to run home now. I've done all the damage I can to in preparing for student's return on Jan 2. I think check in when I get to the house.

I *am* sorry. Now, when you say MEN are you referring to Hunky Men of Gondor (HMoGs) or those Delicious Men of Rohan or those To-Die-For-Dunedain (at least I hope they're to die for as we haven't seen any other than Aragorn, but if he's representative....)?
To: Corin Stormhands
Following directions, looking at the pictures. The McDonald's solution to dumbed down society has not worked. Yesterday I stopped off to get some snacks at the 7-11. Paid on my check card. The cashier nearly fainted when I successfully completed my transaction. He said I was the first person to use the machine without having to be told what to do.

If Aragorn is representative.... then hold me back I'm movin' again! I wish.
Enough of that fantasy. ahhh... smile....
To: Lil'freeper
OH and P.S. did you notice Eomer????
To: ksen
If you can send me the address of the theatre, I can use MapQuest to find the closest hotels. :)
Also, please let me know if there is anything you need me to help you with in organizing Entmoot.
To: Wneighbor
By next December, I have a feeling we will all be in a tizzy!
I cannot wait to meet everyone. I wonder how long it will take before I stop calling everyone by their screen names.
Hey Hair, want a drink? 2J, are you comfortable? Corin, where do you want to sit? Wneighbor, need some popcorn? LOL!
To: RMDupree
The address for the theatre is:
Cinemaworld
4345 West New Haven Ave (which is Route 192)
West Melbourne, FL 32904
It is right off exit 71 on I-95.

Thanks for the offer of help. I may take you up on it when it comes time to try and get the best rates we can for the hotel.
Entmoot seems pretty set for the week of 1/9/04. We could make the actual date for Saturday, January 10, 2004 and whoever wants to come in early and do some Florida stuff can do so.
Just a thought.

Oh, I love this. Can't find any peers in TEXoma. But found plenty here. I'm saving my pennies.
Now, imagine how my boss is going to laugh at this one. Going off to entmoot for a weekend. This is the guy who looked at me stonily and said, you mean there's books about them movies?
To: ksen; RMDupree; HairOfTheDog
You won't care if I wear elf clothes will you?
To: Wneighbor
ROFL... books about them movies.
To: Corin Stormhands
Ok, cool- you're right. *I was afraid it was a pic of some Elf.*
To: Wneighbor
You won't care if I wear elf clothes will you? When you're at my house, I only require clothing, the style is entirely up to you. ;^)

It's Grima. I kept thinking all through the movie that Jackson could've played the role...without makeup...Well, there goes our chance for getting PJ to central Florida for Entmoot.

OK - just went and checked out some rates.
I'll have to wait until at least March or so before I can confirm the exact prices though. Expedia.com and Orbitz.com only have rate info up til November 2003 at this point.
Nevertheless, we have to decide what type of hotel we are looking for. Are we looking for a place to crash only or something a little nicer? Are we going to try and stay at the same place? Do we want to look into renting a conference room (or something like that) and watching the FoTR and TTT there, then head to the theatre?
There are only 2 bed and breakfasts in Melbourne and they are geared for romantic getaways for couples, so they simply won't do.
IMHO, our best bet is to try and get a package deal in a nice hotel, which includes breakfast and (maybe) the use of a small conference-type space and TV.
To: ksen; All
Wrong Jackson silly.
I'm out of here for now folks.
To: Wneighbor
Not if you don't mind me dressing as a Hobbit! ;)
(laughing out loud at the mental image of us Hobbit Holers approaching the theatre in costume.)
To: Wneighbor
LOL! I can relate!
To: ican'tbelieveit; RMDupree
The first time one of these guys reads the book after seeing the movie (which I am anticipating) and comes and tells me the book got something wrong - they're going to be eating book, or maybe film - or maybe both!
This is serious stuff now. Serious.
