Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I had similar thoughts about it being an excuse/device to bring Arwen in early. That raises the question of when she'll arrive. Will she come with the Rangers and Elrond's sons and deliver the sword and the black standard herself? Could be interesting.

Now all of those you described are my students!!! From the frying pan into the fire. Of course they are going to do much better than I ever did in industry. yeah. okay. And in this school I think I have even less to say about the appearance than in the real world. I had a girl complain that it was too hot one night and take her shirt off in class! No one knew there was going to be a spaghetti strapped tank top (nothing else though) under it and most of us had our chins bouncing on the floor in the middle of this process.
I was told that I can't institute a dress code in the classroom. It would be infringing on rights. So, I harp on the real world and the expectations of employers, and keep telling them if they don't get in the habit of dressing for the workplace they won't know what to do when they get there. And appearance = $$$$ in the real world.

Well, no movie. She's going to lunch with the current boyfriend before we leave town for the holidays tomorrow.
Okay, I'm going to admit it. This is the first boyfriend she's had that I actually like. The thing that concerns me is..... I remember boyfriends I had that my mom liked.... and then I don't like him quite as much.

It's absolutely criminal to see these kids hit the "real rat race".
They are so unprepared for the most part, being used to having their every desire granted and the ability to control their environment.
I remember one girl telling me during an interview that she will not prepare coffee. She will answer phones, etc, but no coffee. I asked her why not and she said that she was "nobody's slave".
Little did she know how many awesome job opportunities passed her by because of that one thing. Not just the fact she wouldn't make coffee, but the whole attitude in general. If you aren't ready to wear a zillion hats, you aren't ready for most jobs.
I make coffee every morning, and will continue to do so with a happy heart - because I know how good I have it and what a small, irrelevent price it is to pay in order to have my wonderful job.

Gender mix-up!!!! I am female and I ONLY date MEN! I know, way too old fashioned aren't I? LOL
PS. Happy to say my daughter is of the same mind. Can't figure out for the life of me why SHE finds Haldir so hot. I personally go for Legolas myself.

Okay, I'm trying to catch up from my little run to the school. I should read all before I do the replies I guess.
But, you should really see me now. I am the only one left in the building. Wrapping up now.... and laughing loudly in the darkened corridors of learning. You'd think there was a HUGE party in here!
