The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Gotta go ya'll. It's been fun but it's time to pick up said teenager from school. Early release - CHRISTmas break and all.
You know, it's early, if she'd get over her PMS there is still time for her to give me an early Christmas gift and take ME to the matinee this afternoon!

Woozy is no way to handle a confrontation. :)
As far as hiring goes, I had to get out of the industry because it was ridiculous trying to get placements with the crop of people I had to work with.
I'm sure you've seen it too. The dragon nails lady, the pierced tongue dude, the slob, the slang-talker, the individuals who do not know the meaning of "interview suit", etc. And, of course, each of them want to work at a Fortune 500 company making premium salaries with excellent benefits and casual dress codes. LOL!!
What a joke!
To: HairOfTheDog
Ooooohhh! Lucky you getting to meet them!
The ex was in Always? I'm guessing you broke off on good terms if you still watch the movie. LOL!
I like action movies. But they have to have a decent plot or forget it. I watch them for the suspense mostly, not so much to watch things "blowed up real good".

I just got off the phone with our local good theater. We can rent out a theater and have them show us RoTK for about $600. The reason for that price is that we would buy out there smallest theatre which is 120 seats at $5 a seat.
So if at least 20 of us show up, that would be $30 a piece.

Bye! Good luck seeing the movie again. *envious sullen look*
I know that Hair will be leaving shortly to shop, so I will follow suit and head to the bank to deposit my check. Hopefully it won't be too crazy (yeah right!).
To: ksen
Sounds like a good deal!
Good morning!

Morning, Bear!
I'll be leaving to go to the bank for a minute, but I'll be back soon.
ksen - Sounds good to me. Man, for $30 we get to see it all together on the big screen with no other people? That's a dream come true! *grin*

My favorite ex was in Always. For an extra... he got a lot of face time. He is all over the place. Heh. It is really surreal and distracting for me... Yes, we parted on good enough terms... It was college love. I had hopes for it, but he had different ones. We were together 2 years, and remained real friends another two before he drifted away. No hard feelings.
To: ksen
Not a bad price really! Will they play the other two for us at $30 a pop? Will they pause it if we want to go to the potty?
To: HairOfTheDog
*sigh* Young love...
There's nothing like it.
To: HairOfTheDog
My then-boyfriend was in the film as an extra. When we lived in DC we knew a lot of people who got roles in films, and an actor friend here in Richmond was in Hannibal.
One group of friends got to be in the stadium for Major League II (they apparently were ALL extras...)
And in one scene of The Firm we'll always look at each other as a friend walks away from Tom Cruise on the Mall in DC and say "look, there's Suzie's butt!"
To: HairOfTheDog
I didn't ask about the other two. I will, but I have a feeling they will say we need to pay for three rentals, i.e. $1800, or $90 a piece.

Man, for $30 we get to see it all together on the big screen with no other people? Just so you know, I will NOT hesitate to shush you guys!!!
To: Corin Stormhands
Heh... it's fun isn't it?
OK - I gotta get going. Got a lot to do today and it is 9:20 already. EEEK!
To: Corin Stormhands
I'm leaving for the bank now, but before I go I simply must ask...
Will you shush me if I laugh during that "certain moment" at Helm's Deep? And I'm not talking about Gimli's quips either.
To: RMDupree
Will you shush me if I laugh during that "certain moment" at Helm's Deep? Laughter is a non-shushing offense.
To: ksen
Heh. Right... That is what I mean't by $30 Each... there are a lot of assumptions building on other assumptions! I would guess we don't really have to rent the theater. By January, there will be thin crowds... and we will be able to view RoTK OK at a regular showing.
The challenge will be how to arrange the view of the other two films in a pleasing way. Everything will depend how big of a group we end up with. (I really do have to go now ;~D)

Laughter is a non-shushing offense. THAT'S a relief!
I'm off to the bank. Wish me luck, it's probably bad today!
To: HairOfTheDog
I didn't do that.
