Mary Matalin, VP Cheney's PR strategist, is leaving the White House to spend more time with her family. The Pravda still couldn't avoid a dig, saying the Vice President had "unusal influence inside the White House." Shouldn't a VP have a high level of influence? Come on!

And the CIA believes fully 1/3 of the pre-war leadership of Al Qa'eda has now been killed or captured.

Well, even though I resisted, Nita was successful in roping me into watching Taken last night. Although, she fell asleep near the end of Hour 1. Good thing I taped it ;-)

This Lott thing has gotten way out of control. Lott should have denounced this thing when it first came out, rather than apologize.

Maybe in the future, when someone extolls the virtues of FDR, we should label them anti-Japanese, because Roosevelt interred the Japanese American population during the Second World War. That's how offensive this whole thing has become!

the Vice President had "unusal influence inside the White House."

1st of all what do they mean by "had"? I believe he still "does".

2ndly they are obviously comparing this administration to the previous where Algore had "no" influence inside the WH. Remember he was not 2nd in command.
