I don't think Lott should resign from the Senate (we don't want the democrat gov to appoint a dem to take his place) but I don't think he should be Senate leader. The Dems will use this to beat him even further into submission on their issues and agenda. Lott is damaged goods, and isn't going to do the Repubs any good as senate leader (not that he was any good before, but it's going to get worse).

I think we have more serious things going on other than worrying over whether or not Trent Lott is a racist. Let's see, last i heard, North Korea is ratcheting up the nuke issue. But that's not as important as Trent Lott.
