Our youngest is watching the first one downstairs with six friends in preparation for tomorrow's showing. I just saw the first 20 minutes. It's still pretty good.

I think he's read the books half a dozen times.

He is going to be disappointed if this one isn't better than the first one......and he liked that one a lot.

Well the three movies were all made at once as part of one story, which of course, it is. I've heard that the Two Towers is supposed to be better, but I will reserve judgement until I see it. Given the director's love for the story and attention to detail I expect the see the same quality all the way through.
