I just read TTT's first negative review, on
rottentomatoes.com. It can be read
here. Now, if someone wants to criticize LOTR, or FOTR or TTT, that's certainly their perogative, but it's painfully obvious (as the critic herself acknowledges) that she knows very little about the book. The plot points to which she objects (eg, Bilbo giving the ring to Frodo when he knows how corrupting is the ring's evil) were fully answered in the book, and IMO in FOTR as well. This review lowers TTT's score at rottentomatoes from an unprecedented (so far as I'm aware) 100% fresh to a "mere" 93% fresh-not that reviews are going to affect this film's attendance levels one teeny bit. The review and all the reviews at the rottentomatoes link contain
SPOILERS and I've posted the links solely for the benefit of those here who (like me) are so eager to see the film that reviews are being read compusively as a 'fix' to get us through till December 18th, which will never get here.
