Your tree sounds beautiful. We did something different this year; all silver & gold. It looks really nice IMHO.:)
Boychild now appears to be leaning heavily toward taking next semester off. He keeps going back and forth, though, so I don't know whether this is his final decision or not. I just want him to be HOME so we can talk about it some more; he will be here in a week.
Haven't heard from girlchild for a while, although older boychild talked to her on Sunday and said she sounded great. I know that she is having great fun doing her Christmas shopping in France. I'm dying to see how she gets all this stuff home.:)
Did I tell you my niece had to have growth hormone injections every day for 18 months? Well, she didn't have to, but she opted to.........she was quite short as a result of radiation for a brain tumor when she was 4 years old...........she is now 20 and a college student. Her stature is small anyway (she & her twin sister were adopted; they were born in Korea) but now she is more nearly a "normal" height. I know your daughter's situation is somewhat different but just wanted to let you know that my sister and b-i-l and for that matter my niece never regeretted the decision................
She has other problems, though.........severe asthma and a somewhat deformed leg (the result of soft bones due to either the radiation or prolonged treatment with prednisone) and will one day have to face extensive surgery........but she's alive.............and the tumor has never shown any sign of recurring..........
Pretty amazing, as she was given 6 months to live upon the initial diagnosis.:)
Oh, the prayers that were sent up............we stormed heaven's gate, we did.............
And what is that waiting to be roasted/fried/baked/ whatever? A turkey? large chicken? Goose? Duck?

So, she finally gets ready to print, and Trill's dog went nuts from the printer noise! LOL! She was barking at the printer. Serious "I'm gonna kick your @$$" barking... LOL! "Daddy, get your gun" barking. LOL!
She's a good watch dog. LOL!

He's the only other faculty member there that I know is a Christian. He's been teaching English to international students for over 35 years and in many different places. We haven't really spent that much time talking together and getting to know each other, but today he told me that he hates to see my leaving Vandy because there are so few Christians in that line of work and he doesn't want to lose one.
One thing about Fred is that last year and this year he put in a ton of time teaching Christmas songs and poems to the students during lunch hour. Last year he got reprimanded in some way for using songs that were too religious. This year he was allowed to do the songs and poems, but had to steer clear of anything Christian. Even his students wanted to sing Silent Night, but he had to tell them that he wasn't allowed to teach it to them.

You're a handsome devil, you are!:)
I found the article when I got to work and printed it out for my Grammar students to read on their own, and we discussed it a bit in my Reading class. Because the article specifically mentioned Fox and CNN, we talked about them and I soon got on my hobby horse and was telling them about media bias. I wasn't trying hard to convince them of it, but the facts regarding Fox's popularity do speak pretty loudly that there was obviously something missing before they came along.
Because our director (not the peacenik flake, but our big boss) teaches a media class, I passed the article on to her. As she was perusing it, she said that some of her students told her they watch Fox News. She told them that it was "very right-wing," but they didn't know what that meant. I bit my tongue. I'm leaving soon anyway.
Or start flinging Italian music terms at you!!!!!!!
Besides, my knees were and are just killing me. I was running for most of the time I was out and the last time I went out I got stabbing pains in both knees when I tried to run. Now I've been off my feet for a few hours and they're stiffening up to the point that it's painful just to walk to the kitchen for a drink.
I am not happy about what the next couple of days will look (and feel) like. Mrs. Mulliner is kind of encouraging me to quit, even if we don't get paid anything for what we've already done. I think I'll give it another go in the morning, but if it's not going well, I think my time would be better spent getting ready to move on Monday.
Our finances aren't as bad as we thought anyway. We thought we'd have our first house payment in January, but yesterday found out it's not going to be until February. That gives us some breathing room.
Marscapone, enfillade, gallentine, fratricide. Do not make me taunt you a second time. ;>)
