You know how it is, it is OK for THEM to say things, just not the Pubs. Heck, we all have sliped, I sure did as a Chief of Police, what you do is tell them you are sorry, and mean it, and keep on trucking. Whats the old saying? 'sticks and stones my break my bones but words never will'? Wasn't it the 'evil one' who used the N word?
What about Byrd, he used the WN word, that was OK as well?

LOL!
THAT is hilarious!

Well, I am sorry that Trent Lott said what he did. Which politician had to resign because he made "racist" comments---it was about 3-5 years ago, I think. Was it Al D'Amato? I think it was.
My husband and I were watching a news report about it and here's how the conversation went:
Hubby: "Boy, Trent Lott really put his foot in his mouth this time, huh hon?" to which I responded:
"Trent Lott was born with his foot in his mouth. That's why he has no backbone....he is constantly bending over while trying to get that stupid thing out his mouth."
I assume that no one has heard from illstillbe? :( I hope she's okay.
I haven't been on much this week. We had a TON of rain that lasted all day Monday and into Tuesday. Lakeland even made the headlines for "WEATHER CENTER". I ran into the kitchen to pick up the phone and call my Dad. Just as I was dialing the number, I realized that I would never hear his voice again, I will never be able to hug him and hold him...I will never EVER have to clip his ear hairs again. So...to make a long story short, that's when it hit me that it did actually happen. I cried all day Tuesday and the pain I felt was so horrible that I wouldn't even wish it on my worst enemy (well.....maybe x42 and his idiotic wife. ;-)
Now, don't get me wrong about this. But sometimes I just get so tired thinking about it all. Yesterday I camethisclose to punching someone in the nose because they asked me how I was doing. I want to say, "HOW DO YOU THINK I AM DOING???? I HATE THIS!!" Now, I know they care about me and SO I say "thank you". Then you also hear "he's in a better place." I say yes, he is. All the while thinking, "Well, personally, I would prefer to have him alive." This one has got to me the MOST: "How old was your father?" Why in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD would it make any difference? He's still my Dad and I want him back.
I told my sister yesterday that if I hear anyone mention the words
Angels, God, Heaven and Trust In Jesus, I am very certain that my HEAD WILL BLOW UP! I want to hear that this is really crappy, that it stinks, that it hurts so much that sometimes (like on Tuesday for example) that I feel like I am going to die inside.
You know what? I previewed this post and I realized just how angry I am. I want my father back, right now.
Oh well, I am rambling on and on, I'm sorry.

This woman really gets to me. I shouldn't let her irritate me so much...but I think it is a good prank, and harmless enough. :)

Please ramble on, and talk. It will help you, and we don't mind listening. Lots of hugs going your way from Utah.
How are your boys doing? Are they way excited for Christmas?
To: DJ88
Prayers continue for you. Ramble on, that's why we're here.

You must all go and watch the Barneycam from the White House website. It will make you smile and laugh out loud, seeing the White House from Barney's perspective.

Five of us don't have to take the final tomorrow, because of our point standing, so we get an automatic 100. Which actually brings my average down to 103. Oh well. No complaints about being off for the day.
I won't go back until the 6th of January.

How did your cooking presentation go today? I hope it went well.

So do you have anything fun planned for your time off? I am finishing up the details for our Christmas party, and it hit me last night that I should have just catered the party. If there would have been enough time, I would have done so...
To: Utah Girl
It went well. Mine was ready to eat without heating, and some of the others had problems because hot foods and bake shop were doing practicums today, and had all of the ovens in use.

What did you make? Enquiring minds want to know. I'm trying to negotiate what we are going to have for dinner on Christmas Eve. It is my parents and me and three of my sisters (the unmarried ones.)

My goodness, Deej.
You sure don't have to apologize to me. This IS a very difficult, lousy time for you. It stinks out loud.

The terrine broke, so I did an aspic mold with a leaf embedded in the center of it. That was served with the jalapeno and cheese bread toast.
It was a pretty presentation, and the aspic was perfectly clear and golden, with no cloudiness.

That sounds nice. I'm glad it went so well.

I'm bored, so I went to the White House website to see if there was a press briefing up yet. No, so I went to the White House Christmas page, and started looking. I discovered a very interesting thing. I was looking at the Christmas cards that the various Presidents have sent out over the years, the cards with their pictures. The startling thing (or perhaps it isn't so startling) is the fact that all of the Dem presidents and their wives do not stand close together. All of the Republican presidents and their wives are holding hands, or are touching. Just a small factoid (and then I really started thinking, realizing that probably only Jimmy Carter was faithful to his wife, the others were not. Hmmm.)
To: Utah Girl
Speaking of WH Christmas cards......I had just about given up hope. Went out to the mailbox a few minutes ago, and what do I find? A card with a return address from the White House and a little yellow sticker on the bottom, "Please notify sender of new address"!!
Now, I wonder how one goes about doing that!
I forgot that the card would be delayed coming through the mail forwarding!! Yippee! I finally got it!
