Al Gore might boast hearty journalism chops from his pre-politics days as a reporter [Yes, he won the typewriter ribbon with peanut clusters as a military 'journalist'], but the former veep is no drama critic.
"I loved this show," Gore declared at Monday night's opening party for Broadway's "Dance of the Vampires" at the Copacabana. (If you missed the reviews, critics pretty much agree that the musical has a lot in common with its subjects: It sucks.)
In fact, the potential 2004 presidential candidate was so taken by the performance that he opted for playtime over politics.
"I prefer to meet with these folks right now," he said, gesturing to one of the show's producers, Lawrence Horowitz, when asked about tensions in the Middle East. "I've been doing press conferences all day on Iraq." [Yeah, Al, we really care what you have to say about Iraq, loser.]

Former Vice President Al Gore denied late Tuesday that he and Bill Clinton turned down an offer from the government of Sudan to have Osama bin Laden arrested and extradited to the U.S. in a deal that could have prevented the 9/11 attacks.
