Word For The Day, 11/30/02
11/30/02 | Mistress Bella

Posted on 11/29/2002 2:17:38 AM PST by Bella_Bru

In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....

Today is going to a bit different here at WFTD. I call it "the ultimate review". I have linked the WFTD from everyday since September. Students will be required to submit homework that uses a MINIMUM of 3 words from previous WFTD's. The more words you use in your homework, the better your grade. Extra credit will be given to those who submit examples, in the form of links to outside web sites, photos, or other images, along with their homework. Extra credit will also be given to our more poetically inclined students. Hand in your homework in the form of a poem, and your grade will go up.

I will be strict about grading today, so, hand in homework only using the minimum of 3 words, and you will get a minimum effort grade of a C. Failure to turn in homework will result in a meeting with principal JimRob.

Students who have many absences over the past few weeks might want to use this day to improve their overall grades.

You may use any of the forms (noun, adjective, etc.) given that day. I am only listing the first form.

If you could hear my voice today you would immediately know that NO ONE would come near me......... I have a cold and my voice sounds like one of those character actresses on TV who has been smoking for 40 years and sounds like an old man........When I said good morning to my son his eyes opened wide and he ran to get me a glass of water! lol

Holy pop quiz, Batman!

I am in a dilatory mood today, so I will settle for merely noting that some precocious Swiss scientists are assiduously averring what I have promulgated all along: That the vulgar, invidious, raffish, vituperative Mr. bin Laden is still moribund.

Sorry I couldn't make that rhyme.

I'm no poet
And I know it.

You should have used your cynosure instead of your mouth...

Some of us sure can't. "it's good this for him " - What the heck was that? ("It's a good thing for him" would have been better.) Robt., you can send me 85 cents too for copying my homework so assiduously. :^)

I have a cold too. I barely slept at all last night, what with all the hacking and the inability to breathe through my nose.

And that was after my Nyquil cocktail.

I'd recommend seeing a Dr. I was out of commission for about a week a while back - there was something going around. Had to take Biaxin for 10 days to finally kick it.

Of course, everyone in the office who got sick after I did said they caught "Lou's cold", as if I invented it in my laboratory.

Sounds like a plan to me.....

Get drunk with your honey tonight, then go to bed and sleep with whoever dares shows up.

Hmmmn. Somehow that doesn't sound like it's phrased quite right..... 8<)
