Oh, give me a damn break. Dozens of threads on this freaking loser, where his apologists loudly shriek he didn't start the fire, and for what?

Now he finbally admits it, despite all the tinfoil the losers wasted.

This is like every goofy right wing litigation cause celebre that happens around here, where in the end, it was all just a bunch of ideological masturbation for the unhinged.

I stay away from those other threads, but a few months ago I lurked there and they were saying that this "confession" of his was coerced or faked; that he never said any of that, at least not of his own free will. Well we've got him saying on the witness stand himself that he started the fire and stabbed himself. Who knows what the explanation for that will be?

I spoke too soon. The "explanation" can be found in post #4.

I've given up on the Ted Maher crowd. They were saying that he didn't set the fire, and they believed him. Now he says he was trying to set a fire to start up the sprinklers, and they still believe him, despite his being a lying sack of s**t previously.

You guys must be under 30, and must have not experienced many trials in life. (And to Bloody Sam Roberts, yes res ispe loquitor is a latin term, but it is a latin term for a tort theory, which must still just pass right over your head).

Maher's wife claims she was kidnapped, that her passports were taken, she was detained, and Maher claims that the passports were shown to him, and that he was threatened that he would never see his family again if he did not sign the confession typed for him in French. (If I were going to write a confession, I would write it in the language I spoke, plus it is impossible to type in a language you don't know at all). If it was a transcription, (if Ted confessed orally) where is the audio tape? Oh, it's missing. I see. Where is the security video tape of Belle Epoque? Oh, it's missing. Yes, what a coincidence.

You guys are very willing to give a European monarchy/dicatotorship (that has a form of government that has no sense of American due process) a great deal of faith on series of incredible coincidences (the wife that sent the security team home changes the will just weeks before the event, then has the body cremated and buried in Switzerland against the families wishes, a wife whose second husband also met an untimely death), than you are willing to give an American green beret/medical nurse, who had only commendations for his work.

So, as Ayn Rand states, there is no such thing as a paradox. A fact is true or it is not. Either Maher's wife is lying; she was never kidnapped, her passport was never taken, or she is telling the truth. It is not disputed that she did not get to Ted on that trip even by MCO police. So what evidence, not ideas, conjecture, speculation, do any of you have that Maher's wife lied? What is your source?

I don't care what you folks think, really I don't, hopefully I well never have to waste the bandwith of my life on you in person, I am not here to try and convince you otherwise. But I do find it very curious, why you are so rabidly against Ted Maher. You know, Phil Dragoo keeps telling us about Ted being awakened every 20 minutes. This might sound like unsubstantiated BS, but look at Ted's eyes, he looks exhausted, it could only come from several nights of sleep deprivation.

As to the confession, I understand once a confession has been signed, under MCO law, you cannot procedurally deny the confession. This explains what is going on in court right now.

Typical. The names change but the results are always the same.

Ah, so the firebug admits he set the fire, but um, er, it was an accident, yeah, that's right, that's the ticket. Has that James Kopp "I only meant to wound Slepian, not to kill him" or "The Christine kids are just naturally skinny" ring to it, doesn't it?
