I agree with that. I was frankly surprised the other day when I read that he had confessed. My initial thought was that it is probably not a good idea to insult a monarch and his people if you are seeking mercy from them. I hope, for his sake, that some of his more strident supporters haven't dug a very deep hole for him.
Notwithstanding the tragic outcome of what Maher now admits was a "heroism" scam, mercy is in order, IMO, and I hope that such is forthcoming. Surely his defense attorney will consider a defense on this basis.
In any event, prayers for Ted Maher, his loyal family and friends, as well as the deceased and his family. It should not be forgotten that Ted, by all accounts, served his country with bravery and distinction.....
