More BS from, well, BS:

It’s politics as usual for Barbra Streisand. In a lengthy posting on her Web site, the left-leaning crooner blasts the Republicans for ignoring terrorist threats before 9/11 and having mixed priorities afterward.

In part of the posting, Streisand says: “Seven months before the terrorist attacks, the Bush administration ignored a detailed report co-authored by former Senators Gary Hart and Warren Rudman, co-chairing the United States Commission on National Security, that warned of possible terrorist attacks, including ‘a weapon of mass destruction in a high-rise building.’ ”

Says one fan, “We love Barbra, but we think she should stick to her day job.” MSNBC

A lesson for those turkey leftovers!

GOURMET magazine editor Ruth Reichl learned the hard way that it's not always OK to feast on fungus. Reichl, author of the sexy culinary tome "Comfort Me With Apples," told an audience at the YMCA's 29th annual Academy of Women Achievers luncheon that her mother was always scraping mold off food, saying, "a little mold never hurt anyone." But after one moldy meal at her mother's house, 26 people had to go to the hospital to get their stomachs pumped. Guests included retired sex crimes prosecutor Linda Fairstein, Rep. Charlie Rangel's wife, Alma, and WNBC-TV anchor Jane Hanson.

Too bad it wasn't Charlie instead of his wife!!

"I REMEMBER going and seeing him once and there were about six girls waiting. These were all young starlets. I saw three of them go in. They went in for about 15 minutes and then I was invited in. I said, 'Elvis, are you having sex with these girls?' He said, 'Yeah.' I said, 'How do you do that?' He said, 'It's easy, they're all different.' " - Dennis Hopper on NBC's "Elvis Lives!" special, airing on Thanksgiving. Page Six

Let me just say, Ewww, ewwwwwwww, ewwwwwwww!!

More on Al 'n' Tippsy's tome, from the Wash Times:

"I hadn't intended to read that Gore book on families," David Frum writes at National Review Online (www.nationalreview.com).

"I expected it to be a sugary celebration of home and hearth, a public-relations exercise aimed at convincing suburban moms and other swing voters that Gore was not in fact an android but a man with a heart as big as all of Tennessee. In other words: something yucky," Mr. Frum said.

"Not so, according to Andrew Hacker, a very smart left-wing sociologist, in the current (Dec. 5) issue of the New York Review of Books. Hacker contends that 'Joined at the Heart' follows in the tradition of 'Earth in the Balance': another Gore production written in a voice of almost terrifying frankness. In 1992, Gore told us that if he ever became president, he would dismantle the American economy in the name of environmental regulation. Ten years later, he is ready to execute similar destruction on the American family. I think I am going to have to read the dratted thing after all." link

OH, thank you thank you for posting the link to last year's thread. I was able to find my recipe for Marbled Pumpkin Cheese cake that I posted last year! We moved in August, and I have yet to get everything unpacked, including my cookbooks. I've been getting recipes off of the internet in the meantime. There is a correction to that recipe I posted last year: I omitted an item. Use 8 oz. of gingersnap cookies for the crust.

Good for Gov. Sundquist

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Gov. Don Sundquist has refused to proclaim a "Vegetarian Month," leaving a vegetarian group with a bad taste.

"He is discriminating against vegetarians," said Lige Weill, president of the Knoxville-based Tennessee Vegetarian Society. "They sign proclamations for everything: baton twirling, anything."

Sundquist spokeswoman Melanie Catania told The Tennessean newspaper that such proclamations "are a tool to promote a positive message ... We don't use proclamations to get involved in political arguments, and this fell into that category."

The proposed proclamation says, "Our food supply should be safe and wholesome, rather than laced with pathogens, fat, cholesterol, hormones and carcinogens leading to heart disease, stroke, cancer and other chronic afflictions that each year cripple and kill millions."

Holy mackerel! I'll have to renew my library card and check out gore's book.

Celebrity Links

Anthony Pellicano, a private investigator who was arrested last week, has been associated with many Hollywood celebrities over the years.

STEVEN SEAGAL

In an uncorroborated report, an FBI informant claims Pellicano may have been hired by Seagal to dissuade a Los Angeles Times reporter from writing about the actor's reputed mob connection. Both deny this.

ROSEANNE BARR

Barr hired Pellicano in 1989 to find the daughter, 17, she put up for adoption. Later, Barr accused Pellicano of finding the daughter by paying off a couple of National Enquirer reporters.

MICHAEL JACKSON

Pellicano became a full-fledged celebrity in his own right when he surfaced as a defender and spin-master for Jackson, who faced career-threatening molestation allegations from the family of a young boy.

I'm shocked they left out the most celeb celebrity, Hillary!.

Let me see if I can offer some CPR to this thread:

Raspberry Yogurt Salad

Container of Cool Whip
Pkg. of Raspberries (thawed & drained)
Container of Raspberry Yogurt (2 if you use large size Cool Whip)

Blend drained raspberries and yogurt into Cool Whip. Turn into serving dish,, it sets up quickly.

This is good for those with dietary limitations.

Yo, Tube! Stop that bending, baby! Miracle Whip is NEVER the same as Hellman's mayonnaise. Take it from a delicate palate.

Actually, the Bush Admin had put together a plan for action on Al Qaeda, which was just delivered to the President's desk on 9/10 or 9/11 - not sure of the exact date. But of course, BS overlooks the fact that Bill Jerkoff Clinton had 8 years to get Binny Laden and didn't do diddley (at least with UBL - he diddled quite a bit with the "ladies" who came his way).

Gawd, that Chelsea is an ugly girl, bless her little heart. I bet Ian gets her drunk just so that he can put a bag over head.
