Well, woman, ck it out.

Hannity and Colmes are flashing some line about Orrin Hatch being a possible Supreme Court nominee. It must be a very slow news day.

Orin has a new book coming out..."Square Peg". Isn't that a great title?!

I met Hatch during his brief flirtation with the Presidency. He came to Iowa seeking support, long after most of the Primary Delegates had already committed to someone or other.

Hatch is just now appearing on Hannity & Colmes.

I have to watch out for deviled eggs, they are my weakness. My niece's new beau is bringing the deviled eggs for Thanksgiving. Daughter and I moaned because we like 'em plain, without all the pickle relish and such and we don't know if he'll make them correctly. (picky, picky, picky)

Here's how we do the yolks:
Use Kraft mayo, not Miracle Whip. Salt, pepper and paprika to taste, then sprinkle a little paprika on the finished eggs. Nice and simple.

Orrin, "Every senator is my friend" Hatch is not the sharpest knife in the drawer (I stole that line from lodwick - he didn't use it in reference to Orrin, but it fits).

Bush should send young, conservative judges to the SC. They'll last a long, long time that way.

Square Peg - he has no sense of irony, does he!

PS: Utah Girl, I hope I didn't offend you on my Orrin comments. The guy absolutely irritates me to no end. That has nothing to do with you or Utah, though.

Kraft mayo? What? No Hellman's? (one of the treats about going to my grandmother's was getting to have REAL mayonnaise - and it was always Hellman's. So I can't help it, for a long time I thought Hellman's was the only company that made mayonnaise!)

I'm heading up the stairs. Tons of stress this week, very little sleep last night. I need to get some rest. See you guys later.

Hey me too! But for some reason over the years I switched. I'm too old to remember why.

Agreed. I may be picky, but I prefer that those nominated for the Supreme Court have a certain amount of actual judicial experience, in addition to having practiced law and not just talked about it in a law school classroom. (Hatch practiced law from 1962-1976, so I wasn't including him in that category).

I sure would love to see Ted Olson get nominated. I would hate to see him have to go through all the crap the dims would throw at him, though. But man, I would love to have him as a Supreme Court justice.

My dad's the same way - I keep Miracle Whip in the fridge just for him. Which reminds me, how long can that stuff keep? He's coming next week and the stuff in the fridge is left over from when he was here in early June.

Hah, it IS a slow news night - Greta just announced a FOX NEWS ALERT - that the pageant is being moved from Nigeria to London.

How does this possibly rate a news alert status?

Morning IG!

Look what greeted me in my email inbox this morning... LINK

Made me so mad I had to start a thread! Be sure to read the Georgia House Bill(HB1) included. These scum are liars and we need to expose them.

Good morning, Granny.
It's beautiful here, first frost!

It's Iron Bowl day here--Alabama vs Auburn. I saw a recipe on the Martha Stewart show this week for these little round cheese crackers, much like cheese straws. Looked delicious and easy. I think I'll make it for the game party.

They're pretty, too....check it out here: CHEESE COINS WITH JALAPENO JELLY

I can even freeze half the dough for Thanksgiving. I don't have the reusable Silpat baking sheets, but after researching, it sounds like I should. Have any of you used them?
