Good morning, lysie! Very cold here for this time of year...just took the dog out.

Geraldo on talking about Hans Blix. I haven't had my fist cup of coffee yet, and Geraldo is hard to take this early. Molly said the same thing yesterday...HA!

Neets, I was concerned about your drive home last night. Sure glad you didn't get the freezing stuff we got for your trip home.

Jane, I've had a couple cups of coffee and Geraldo continues to make me wish I was back in bed with my eyes closed.

Trial lawyers vs. Homeland Security

Giving themselves a second chance to be on the receiving end of another game of Homeland Security whack-a-mole with President Bush, Senate Democrats are suddenly raising new objections to the bill that was supported by most of the House Democratic leadership last week--in what is likely a sly attempt to effectively kill the Homeland Security bill this year without actually voting against it.

Let the games begin

Now that the United Nations has given Iraq's Saddam Hussein a last Last Chance to disarm, the games have only begun.

A solid one-two punch

Fresh off his stunning midterm election victory, President Bush wasted no time in putting his newly acquired political capital to work. First, he slammed a homeland-defense bill through the Senate. Then -- the very next day -- he said he intends to offer "new ideas" on ways to stimulate the economy.

Isabella, the Kliban-cat double, has made up with Cassie (after bopping her on the nose a couple of times). Sophie, the more timid of the cats, sneaks upstairs every once in a while, but she has always been slow to warm up to people, let alone a dog!

Cassie no longer barks at them and doesn't chase them, so we are getting settled down here.

However, Cassie STILL doesn't like the wild cats and barks at them whenever she catches a glimpse of them in the yard.

Geraldo on talking about Hans Blix. I haven't had my fist cup of coffee yet, and Geraldo is hard to take this early...

I've found that it takes a little something stronger than coffee for me before I can even begin to stomache Geraldo...I really don't understand what FNC sees in that little twerp.

lysie - Thanks for getting the best forum on FR up and running this morning!!! I see in your opening that the RATs totally missed the clue bus driven by the American electorate on 5 Nov and want to continue playing their silly little RAT games...idiots.

Well, sounds like the coffee is ready so I guess I'll go fill up my tankard and get ready to face the day!

These people are going to get us all killed......grrrrrrrrrrr!

Perhaps aware that the trial lawyers’ wish list doesn’t stand a chance in the post-election reality, Senate Democrats are also scrambling to dig up newfound technical changes in the bill--anything to force a time-consuming conference committee. Democrats are even pushing a patently silly idea: Forcing Homeland Security advisory committees to meet out in the open under the same “sunshine” rules that govern advisory committees to, say, the Department of Education.

Senate Democrats, in votes occurring most likely today, face two divergent paths: either they can side with President Bush, public opinion, and the San Francisco liberal-cum House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), or they can come to the aid of their biggest backers: trial lawyers. If they choose the road less traveled, even fewer voters will likely follow them in 2004.

This is a fine thing to wake up to......these people are out and out evil!!!

Cool here today, but no rain.

I finally finished raking my front yard yesterday.

I swear those trees grew a second batch of leaves, and dropped them when I wasn't looking, just to taunt me.

My eldest son, and his friend helped clear the yard.

Now comes the back.

Have a great ay all, and watch those roads!

In the how the heck did they do that department?

Engineered blood vessels 'grow' from skin

Using a postage-stamp-sized skin biopsy, researchers reported Sunday they now can grow an endless supply of blood vessels to replace blocked arteries in the heart or legs.

Put on a sappy face

Comparative ads: attack ads

Traffic-calming road insertions: speed bumps

More from the above link.

My daughter and I were just speaking about this last night. It seems that in hear college the library is not the libray but the learning commons. Daughter said...What the heck is that?

When my daughter was in high school, the new name for the library was the "IRC," which stands for Integrated Resource Center.

However, the kids still asked for library passes. Ha!
