Last year took the kids up to a great fish & chips joint in Kearny, NJ (a big Scottish population there). They were having a "Burns supper", which is a fun celebration of the poet's birthday.

When I ordered the haggis, our waitress shook her head and said in a thick brogue, "Ah, you're a brave lad"

Ah, yes. Burns' Night -- January 25th. Complete with piping in the haggis, the Address (Robert Burn's Ode to a Haggis), the meal and the party afterward. It's a fun time.
