Claiming Shedd is bias while sitting on cases.

This is incredible.

"Someone is trying to reach me by phone this a.m., but when I pick up the phone, I just hear a ping sound...."

Molly, that happened to me once; over and over again; it was driving me crazy. We have caller ID so I tried calling back to that number but it just rang and rang and no one picked up. I finally figured out that it was a fax machine calling our number, thinking it was calling another fax machine. So I called our phone company and somehow they were able to trace the origin of the call and tell them to stop calling.

p.s. These were long distance calls and we were charged for them...........had to call the phone company again to have the charges removed. Check your next bill.

Yes, you are correct. This is so frustrating - the waiting, I mean. A little like you, Dog, waiting for your back to "heal".

Ha, ha! Did you see that shot of Edwards looking decidedly unhappy? He knows he is going off the committee! LOL!

Okay, gang, I need some advice..........

Just received an e-mail from boychild #2........he is considering taking a "semester off" from college..........and would like Dad & I to offer our imput...........

His reasons are many; he feels stagnant and apathetic toward his studies right now......his grades are not terrific at the moment (although his GPA so far is very good); He would like to work for a while in order to pay off some debts and gets his car fixed; his girlfriend lives here and they would like to be able to spend more time together; she is going to his school next fall so he knows he will want to go back then; he's unsure about his major (history) and doesn't want to waste money/credits on something he might end up hating; etc. etc. etc. He says he wants to get some "discipline and order" back in his life and hopes that taking some time off from school would accomplish this.

Of course I would prefer that he stay in school............but I would support his decision either way, I guess.........

Not quite sure how to handle this one.

Any advice?

That's a tough one. Our daughter took a semester off because when she moved back here from the campus she had to pay her half of the rent anyway...so she had to work to do so (I wasn't going to pay it). She missed school and went back full-time the following fall.

However, some people who drop out never do go back, and I think this is more true of males. Is this mostly the girlfriend? Are they having troubles? Is she complaining? Lots of stuff to think about.

Maybe Molly Pitcher can offer some input when she returns.

My 2 cents....

He seems to have made up his mind Mozie...give him the reasons why he shouldn't do it then....let him do it.

I think Edwards will not vote to reject. He is wanting to keep his Senate seat, even if he doesn't get the nomination.

We will see.

Mozie, i can only speak from personal experience. When I was an undergraduate, I wanted to take off a semester. Of course, my mother flipped! Her arguments included, I'd never return, waste of money, lack of direction, etc.

Well, I did leave to go to community at home. I was just tired of school and needed a break. I made the Dean's list that semester but quit anyway for 2 years. I've always thought that I would have gone back earlier if allowed to do it "my way".

Your son has offered an alternative to continuing next semester. He probably knows what he needs right now.

They haven't been dating that long but it got real serious real fast.

I don't know how much that situation is playing into this...........

He's coming home for Thanksgiving, and she will be out of town, so I'm hoping we'll have plenty of time to talk this over.......
