I didn't mean to quote anything. I inferred that you meant that the South seceded because the government was infringing upon their rights. If my inference is correct, I wanted to know what rights you thought were being infringed upon.

But I couldn't find anywhere I had said that!!!

I don't originally remember what I said, but as far as "rights" go, my position would be historical and Constitutional.

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution,
nor prohibited by it to the States,
are reserved to the *States* respectively,
or to the *people*.

I would agree that the 9th and 10th Amendments are ignored, but how do they apply to the secession of the South?
