In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....
aver\uh-VUR\, transitive verb:
[Inflected forms: averred; averring]:
1. To affirm with confidence; to declare in a positive manner, as in confidence of asserting the truth.
2. (Law) To assert, claim, or declare as a fact.
Etymology: Aver is from Old French-Medieval French averer, from Medieval Latin adverare, to confirm as authentic, from Latin ad-, ad- + Medieval Latin verare, from Latin verus, true. Other words deriving from verus are very, which sometimes has the sense of "true"; verify, to prove the truth of; and verdict, a decision or judgment, literally a "true-saying" (verus + dictum, saying).

Hmmmmmn.
Since the democrats cannot help but lie (to themselves, and to their voters, and to their officials, it's no wonder that they made many mistakes last Tuesday.....
Their averrage index on a standard lie detector is a negative 10.

poor xspup is not permitted out into the yard where he will become a muddy mess. he is confined to the deck where he can get wet but not muddy. he isn't happy about that.
i dreamt last week that i went out the front door and our entire front lawn was one enormous hole dug by xspup, such that one could build a foundation in it....do you think i have issues??

Yowser!!!
If this keeps up and they issue and further tornado warnings or alerts - I'm outta here. There is a 20+ year old mobile home community (trailer park) behind my house - no way will I be sitting here for very long.
