Yes it's a remake. Gary Cole plays Uncle Bill (and does a good job of filling Brian Keith's shoes) and Tim Curry plays Mr. French (at first I was skeptical about the casting -- he's no Sebastian Cabot -- but he is excellent in the role, playing it perfectly as the somewhat snobby butler who doesn't like children but falls for his employer's nieces and nephew.) It airs on Thursday nights on the WB network and retained the attitude and feel of the original show even though it has been updated.
