NEITHER DID THE LIVE ACTION..
I guess it just would have confused everyone.. I'll probably buy this edition, just for the gifts from Lorein. I was REALLY bummed out about that...

I can understand why they left out Tom Bombadil and Goldberry, but part of that was the Barrow Downs, and that's where they got their weapons. I wish they had been able to work that in some how. I do believe, however, that PJ did a great job of picking what stayed and what had to be left out. It must have been difficult choosing.
Hearing about the extended version is making me drool! Can't wait to see it!

Well, you're in luck because though it did not make it into the film, they did a little bit of filming and are packaging the sequence into a companion DVD: Tom and Goldbery--Aint Nobody Humpin Around.
