The outside of a horse is good for the inside of a man...

And a little hard work doesn't hurt, either, along with a dose of self-discipline.

Freeper Cruise info for those who missed the link last week.SHUDDER
I plan to eventually retire on a boat, but it would take a six figure bribe to get me on one of those Cattle Boats.
We need to pick out one of the new small cruise ships that carry 50 to 200 people so we could take the whole boat.

And a little hard work doesn't hurt, either, along with a dose of self-discipline. One of the Western states Prison Farms is matching some inmates with wild mustangs and letting them break each other. They say the most important thing they learn is to control their tempers because yelling at the horse does no good, you can't push them around, and if you fight something that big you're gonna lose.

Agree with the smaller = better. One of our favorite lines is Commodore out of NewOrleans - their craft only accommodate around 800 paying bodies as opposed to the 3K that Carnival et al aim for.

As I recal, the prison farm is at Canon City, Colorado, and apparently the program has been very successful, for both inmates and horses.
The whole concept of horse "breaking" has changed, thankfully, over the past 15 to 20-years, thanks to guys like Ray Hunt and many others. The results are spectacular and the horses are not abused.
The whole "breaking" thing is part of western lore...after seeing real horse hands, like our neighbor Benny DeMaley, in Nevada, start and finish top horses, it occurred to me that the tie-up, buck out, method couldn't be the best way. I'm priveledged to say I have known some real hands, and I've never known a good one to abuse or be rough with a horse. Every, and I mean every top horse hand I've known will always blame himself for any horse problems. It always amazed me when Benny would get snorted off a horse and get up and
say..."*@!#%, I must of done something wrong". That's a hand.

Mo,
Now tell us that photo is out of a Monty Python skit. LOL!

Somehow Loddy, I'm not surprised you spent time on a farm, bucking bales and working hard.
