The Democratic Party was poised to increase its lead in the Senate and perhaps even reclaim the House until it tapped Walter Mondale to replace the late Sen. Paul Wellstone, according to top political strategist Dick Morris.
"The election turned against the Democrats when they nominated Walter Mondale," Morris told NewsMax late Tuesday. "That sent a message to the country that he was their poster child."
