I've been to BBQ heaven in Memphis....now I need to know about the rest of the country.....

I need a Freeper list of the best BBQ joints in your respective states. I would prefer that the joints be just that -JUKE JOINTS or the like-not chains. Please explain why you like it...ribs? Chicken? baked beans?

Memphis may be good, but KC is barbecue heaven. Barbecue sauce in KC is like wine in France, go a mile down the road and it's different product.

Memphis may be good, ...

But they serve that Gawd-awfful slaw that is chuck full of yellow mustard. Now, I am a big fan of yellow mustard, but it doesn't belong on raw cabbage! :o) fsf

You forgot Iron Works on Sixth St. in Austin and there's also Bob's Barbecue in San Antonio. And, Joel's in Flatonia, Tx on I10.

I used to visit Syracuse at lot on business, and I used to go every day to the Dinosaur. I miss that place. Still got my bottles of sauce from there.

"Currently my favorite is Fiorellas in Martin City."

I'm with you. The Overland Park one is good, but I still love the joint in Martin City! We go everytime my family comes to town. Their request!

If I would have known you were going I would have sent Mason with you. He was so mad that I couldn't go at the last minute. I did very, very briefly entertain the thought of bringing all my children with me.

Moonlight Barbeque in Owensboro, KY. They have a buffet that will leave you stuffed. Their vegetables and desserts are fantastic, not to mention theri barbeque pork, ribs, country ham, mutton, and beef all on their buffet. It is worth the drive. Bubba ate their when he came to Owensboro a couple of years ago. I hope that doesn't make any differenc? LOL

Since you are in Owensboro it is worth the drive to Evansville, IN to try Wolves Barbeque. They actually have better barbeque than Moonlight, but their buffet isn't quiet as large. Their ribs are their #1 delight.

I have to agree. Joe's in Downtown Gilbert, AZ...The best BBQ I have ever had, it is our family's favorite. I am originally from California, and Kansas City BBQ (was in the movie Top Gun) in San Diego (across from Seaport Village) was great too, but it can't beat Joe's. I have also had BBQ in several other states, but nothing has come close to Joe's, when ever we have company from out of town we always take them there. They have all said it is the best they have ever had, and can't wait to come back for more. In fact we are going there for Dinner tonight!!! Joes Brisket here I come. They have awseome Cheesy Potatoes and BBQ baked beans too!

Country's Barbeque in Columbus, GA, Phenix City AL and Montgomery, AL is still one of my favorites. I will drive out of my way to eat there.

Tuesday was always all you can eat chicken night (don't know whether that is still the case). Live bluegrass on occasion.

Texas- Too many to choose from. It's all good.
