On behalf of Timeout, who probably is enjoying a gourmet French meal about now, I thank you. It's always a pleasure to meet other Freepers, especially in such glamorous settings as Paris!

A spring chicken, by any measure!

Aw, you're just getting better! You should hear my hubby groaning about becoming 52 (also on the 30th, that's how I remembered). I keep telling him it's not so bad, he's got a really young wife! ;-)

Crocodile tear alert:
HONOLULU -- Former President Clinton's scheduled visit to Honolulu on Tuesday will be delayed a day so he may attend services for the late U.S. Sen. Paul Wellstone in Minnesota, a spokesman said Sunday. Clinton was scheduled to appear with Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mazie Hirono and running mate Matt Matsunaga at a union rally Tuesday afternoon. That event will now be held on Wednesday, but details had not been worked out on Sunday, said spokesman Steve Hirano. source.

For all of us who love the Wendy's Mandarin Chicken Salad, now you can make it at home.
---SESAME DRESSING---
1/2 cup corn syrup
3 tablespoons white distilled vinegar
2 tablespoons pineapple juice
4 teaspoons granulated sugar
1 tablespoon light brown sugar
1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1/4 teaspoon ground mustard
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon paprika
1 dash garlic powder
1 dash ground black pepper
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds
---MANDARIN CHICKEN SALAD---
4 chicken breast fillets
1 head iceberg lettuce, chopped
4 cups red leaf lettuce, chopped
1 1/3 cups canned mandarin orange segments
1 cup rice noodles
1 cup roasted sliced almonds
1 Prepare dressing by combining all dressing ingredients except vegetable oil and sesame seeds in a blender on high speed.
2 Slowly add oil to mixture (to create an emulsion).
3 Add sesame seeds and blend for just a couple seconds.
4 Pour dressing into a covered container (such as a dressing cruet) and chill until needed.
5 (1 1/2 CUPS DRESSING) Rub each chicken breast fillet with oil, then lightly salt and pepper each piece.
6 Grill on medium/high heat until done.
7 Chill chicken breasts in refrigerator.
8 When chicken is cold, build each salad by first arranging about 4 cups of iceberg lettuce in the bottom of a large salad bowl or on a plate.
9 Arrange a cup of red leaf lettuce on the iceberg lettuce.
10 Dice each chicken breast into bite-size pieces and sprinkle the pieces from each one over each salad.
11 Arrange about 1/3 cup of mandarin orange wedges on each salad.
12 Next, sprinkle about 1/4 cup of rice noodles and 1/4 cup of roasted sliced almonds on top of each salad.
13 Add desired amount of sesame dressing and serve.

Great pics of you and Mr. Mountaineer and Timeout!
I didn't know you had all gone to Paree. Some day I will get up to speed. :-)

Thanks for the pics of W and Indiana Jones!
I used to think that Harrison Ford was the ultimate, but then I found out he was a liberal. Now I just want to swoon over his make-believe characters.
My sis was in Jackson Hole a couple of summers ago and while she was outside a retaurant waiting to be seated, he drove up to the light and looked at her. She said he could tell she recognized him and seemed to appreciate that she didn't get hyper. Even though he is a lib, I would have a hard time not getting hyper. My sis is one cool chick. ;-)

;-) For some reason, that pic of our President in that goofy mexican shirt reminded me of Ford...no other reason for the post than that. I hate to learn that Harrison is the enemy - too bad Harrison. So sad.
Most of you actor people are not really smart, are you?

LOL... if Harrison Ford could have a brain transplant, he would be the hunk of all time.
Of course, this new brain that is conservative would have to think I am the most gorgeous woman he ever met. :-)
