With the countless stories waiting to be filmed, why do directors insist on remaking classics? He should film The Hobbit, instead.
I agree. In my opinion, the most stunning video we've seen of the battle yet was during the preview that was attached to the end of FotR at the start of this year, and that was still an undergoing major work, but even then it was amazing.
I'm not quite sure I'll be able to take it! I nearly collapsed after watching that briefest of brief glimpses of the battle of the Last Alliance during the opening of FotR, trying to imagine what Helm's Deep will be like on the big screen seems like an impossibility now.
It's going to unlike anything we've ever seen before.

By way of directions for newcomers, let me help you find some things.
We have two ongoing threads at the moment for LoTR types!
The New Hobbit Hole is our ongoing chit-chat thread. Sometimes we are talking about something LoTR, and sometimes we are talking about nothing, but the folk there are always friendly, and if you stop by we would be happy to buy you a pint and offer you some cheer. Don't feel that you have to have read the thread, because it is 37,380 posts long at the moment! Just jump in and introduce yourself! There is no ping list for that thread. But warning, we are quite charming and addictive!
The other ongoing thread is not so long or active...Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (Movie Spy Reports and Spoilers thread)... the place where we post spoilers and spy-reports... news about the upcoming Two Towers!
Both these threads and the others posted by Hobbit Hole regulars are posted in the General Interest side, under the Topic "Hobbit Hole"
You can find new threads about LoTR by subscribing to the Hobbit Hole Topic... and other new threads, such as this one will appear in your sidebar. (I have mine right under Breaking News!)
