Even reading Akin's analysis as if it were a bang-on accurate appraisal of the Pope's statement, it's clear that the Pope doesn't oppose evolution, and it would appear that he plans to have the church co-exist with it. If that were all the Pope said, it's sufficient for my purposes.

sufficient...lies/spin/denial/distortions---
for my purposes...evolution/atheism/evil!
A theory's validity depends on whether or not it can be verified, it is constantly tested against the facts; wherever it can no longer explain the latter, it shows its limitations and unsuitability. It must then be rethought.
The Pope recognizes evolution as a THEORY. A theory that must be proven. If it cannot be proven, it should be rethought. Countless times, evolution has been debunked and rebuked. Countless times, the perveyers of evolution have lied to further their cause. Is it time for some to start 'rethinking' the pseudo-sciences they so vehemantly support; pseudo-sciences/theories that dismantle the fabric of civilization -- theories that have led some to promote and support genocide. RE: Hitler/Mao/Lenin et al -- see link posted above.
If that were all the Pope said, it's sufficient for my purposes in debating those who claim that evolution is anti-Christian.
