Etymology: Atrabilious is from Latin atra bilis, black (atra) bile (bilis). It is a translation of Greek melankholia (see melancholy), from melan-, black + khole, bile. According to ancient physiological theory, there are four principal humors (fluids) in the body: phlegm, blood, choler ("yellow bile"), and black bile. As any one of these predominates it is supposed to determine the temper of the mind and body. Thus an individual with a preponderance of black bile in his system would be atrabilious (or melancholic) by nature.

How immature. Airplane Glue takes longer to dry, and you can sniff the tube while you wait.(though it dries like a hard booger.)

As the rubber cement cures, it becomes squishy and less sticky. My experience with airplane glue is that it forms a thin skin over the runny part and is not useful as squishy boogers.

That cold air is supposed to drop into the great void tomorrow afternoon. It will be the first hard frost we have had. We have given up on everything in the garden but the carrots and onions. The coming of winter makes me feel atrabilious.
