They have a tag number from the car? Or one they assume may be the car? I have the news on but not concentrating on it..

Last night there was a report that said police had a tag number, and were in pursuit of a vehicle. Later they denied a car chase. This morning on local radio, they again said they have a tag number. It's probably from a stolen vehicle in any event.
