I don't put alot of stock in the printed word of newspapersI have found that writer of such an article can skew things the way they want.
Having said that I don't think the article can be taken word for word as accurate.
But, but...wouldn't that be called libel???
And, and...wouldn't that constitute sandude's remark as being..."Smart Haters" ?
LIBEL
A false publication, as in writing, print, signs, or pictures, that damages a person's reputation. The act of presenting such material to the public.

There's this thing called
OPINION, Neenah.
Why are you being threatening towards Sandude? B/C in my OPINION, that's what you are doing. Is it your intention to bully off this thread everyone who doesn't agree with you?? Why? Where would the fun be then?
Duck, here come the BIG FONTS!!
It was nice of you to pat Lakey on the head a few comments back, BTW.
You're going to need more than just the dictionary definition to figure out this "libel" stuff, b/c a good piece of Freerepublic seems to come under your definition. And that's not correct.

Libel? Most times it is simply not geting the facts straight. There is no intent to defraud or defame intentiionally, just sloppy journalism.
Occassionaly there is out and out libel. I had one of those incidents once too and should have taken legal action but didn't.
As far as your agrument with Sandude goes, I decline to get in the middle of it as it does me no good to label anyone "smart haters" or "smart lovers".
I just want to know what happened, where ES is, and what might be done to prevent these things from happening.
I have found it is easy for me to criticize those who are doing something only to find out later my criticism was totally off base. So I try not to be too critical of any of the posters here as they are all coming from different life experiences. If I can help someone understand something better from my perspective or from something I know that might help them understand I will do so. Otherwise I remain quiet in the world of lurking!
