Did you expect a reasoned debate on a thread with a NUMBER in the title?

No. I expect what I am seeing -- a chance to discuss what is a clear and purposeful attempt to use this number to disrupt and shut down various threads. It is clear -- it is even admitted by various Freepers -- that the whole goal is to shout down and stop any semblance of cogent debate by the repeated posting of this non-message.

So I came on here to offer my observations about this tactic, and to decry the fact that the moderators are not stopping these obvious attempts to disrupt threads.

Laz, considering the fact that you hate just about everything on this site now, I find it highly amusing that you're here as the Graphic Guard, being all offended, acting like this thread has lowered the standards at FR.

And I find it very ironic, to say the least, that you are using the term "brown shirts."

I have to plead complete ignorance of this.
I haven't noticed any "5"s being used to spam threads.
In fact, I've pretty much dismissed this particular thread as a moose & cheese wannabe, but lacking in creativity.

On a scale of 1~10, I'd only give it a 5.
