Seeing that Darth's posting privileges have been revoked, I took it upon myself to post the WELL DESERVED opus of a long standing member of FR.
He can't post but he can still read, so fill free to wish him well......

I still like this kid.

I'm strong enough to read posts such as Darth Sidious' without turning to the "dark side..." And I don't mind disagreements. But I feel very uncomfortable with the bannings -except for DU disruptors.

I remember meeting Darth. Unfortunately, he thinks his views are the only ones important, and like so many others here on FR, has no patience to reform from within.
I don't think he is a Democrat, but if he is going to vote for Erskine, he may as well be.

Sincerely, Christopher Knight "Darth Sidious"Was Darth Sidious actually...?

Sad direction FR has taken.

Vote for a member of the Klinton crime syndicate???
What is this kid smoking???
This ban is well deserved. Next thing you know ole Darth will be clammering Hillary for president.

Another one of FR's more interesting FReepers is gone. It's sad... lots of disappearing FReepers lately.
I can't comment on why Darth Sidious was banned, because I really don't know what happened. I hope there was just a terrible misunderstanding and that Darth's posting privileges will be restored.
Darth, I'll especially miss your fabulous movie reviews. And congratulations to you and your new wife on your recent marriage. Hope to see you back on FR someday soon.

Tex,
Thanks for the thread for Darth...everyone needs an Opus thread upon departure, no matter the circumstances. This doubly goes for one with a lot of time on the forum.
.
Darth,
Politics is one thing to discuss and another to practice a life-time, I wish you well in doing both. I will remember you, not by your comments about this one issue and this one period, but, instead, based on the overview of watching you contribute these last few years. I will, therefore, have no worries as to your future, your views, your contribution and your validation. All because those things are measured in the Long Haul, not in one dustup. Stay well and don't fret about this. First Principles endure.

Here's to hoping for a change of heart. You will be missed, friend.
You were banned for saying many things that I agree with.
Maybe I'll soon be in the same spot myself. :^/
To: Texaggie79
I disagree with him about dole/bowles, even though we hold similar philosophy in government, but banning him? I thought conservatives encouraged all forms of ideas, and liberals who liked to shut people up. It's DU that bans Republicans, I never throught I'd see the day where FR would ban someone who is a conservative but is voting Dem in one instance to try and send a message to the RP.

"Always two there are...a Master and the Apprentice...."

Or maybe it was my admission that, yes, I *will* vote for Erskine Bowles for U.S. Senator from North Carolina.
That was probably it. It would certainly be sufficient.
'Bye, Darth. Hope your poll-booth tryst with an unabashed socialist is as sweet as your breathless anticipation of it.
My belief is this: that we cannot trust a political party - ANY political party - with any great amount of power, because political parties are about nothing but power.Freepers often spout wisdom from the founder, as if they believe it.
Washington warned us of foreign entanglements and of political parties. FR seems to advocate both nowadays.
To: Texaggie79
Since I don't have all the facts about this situation, I will agree that regardless of who is in power I believe the following: Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely even if it's well-intentioned.
To: Texaggie79
Carpetbaggery aside, Darth, doesn't the idea of someone who might have actually TOUCHED Clinton give you the HEAVES?
To: Texaggie79
