Oh how I'm looking forward to that kind of weather. It's still 95 here during the day.

Enjoy your walk!

It was a fine Miss America thread - most entertaining. I couldn't watch the program, though; the whole thing is just so silly. I saw enough to hear Wayne Brady say the girls worked their butts off, "Can I say 'butt' on TV?" and thought that was so tacky there was no point in watching any more. Plus there were some good football games on.

Wish I had been watching football and I hate football. ;-)

The thread was the only saving grace of that debacle.

Wayne Brady, peeeewww, he stunk to high heaven. At least last year the football player host (can't remember his name) was the highlight of the show. All his mumbling and non-command of the English language was most entertaining!

Moron alert (although a certain segment at FR might make her their poster girl):

MELANIE Griffith made headlines in 2000 when she vowed to smoke pot with her son, Alexander, if he wanted to try it. And just two years later, she is ruing her decision.

"I said that if my son wanted to smoke pot, I would smoke it with him," Griffith told More magazine about Alexander, 17, her son by Steven Bauer. "I did - and it backfired. He liked it. Now he’s on the [12-step] program."

"My thinking was that it would be better for him to do it at home than to go out in the street and get something that would kill him. I thought it was a good idea, but ultimately, it wasn’t." full story at Page Six.

Also from Page Six, a sighting of CHELSEA Clinton and Ian Klaus cozily catching a performance of "Hairspray," then dining at Angus McIndoe with Democratic operative Liz Robbins. Wonder what that's all about.

Shoot, JL, you know there's nothing wrong with that. Mom just provides the condoms, like a good, modern parent. *gag*

Oh geez! I suppose when he wants to have sex with his girlfriends she'll be one of those mom's who provide a room in her home so he won't have to do it in the back of his Mercedes. She'll make sure there's a variety of condoms on the night stand. What a maroon!

From Rush Limbaugh:

On Friday, I brought those of you who now say we should just leave Saddam alone some of the most hawkish statements you've ever heard on Iraq. Did they come from the Bush White House in 2002? No, they came from our so-called allies Canada, France and Germany in February of 1998.

You can read the statements of these three nations using this link, and then read the statements from many of our other now-wimpy-then-wise allies in the full State Department transcript. We've already documented Bill Clinton and his administration saying the same things about Iraq and Saddam Hussein back in 1998 that were said in 1990-91 and that are being said by the current administration.

We've documented how Democrats like Tom Daschle were tripping over each other to beat the war drum back then. Now we see the truth: these liberals, as well as the ones in Europe and north in Canada, just went along with the rhetoric because they knew it was BS. On February 19,1998, Prime Minister Jean Chretien of Canada said, "If we do not act, if we do not stand up to Saddam, that will encourage him to commit other atrocities." Today, he's Saddam's best friend in North America – simply by refusing to help stop him.

Link

Even the WashPost Editorials have been consistent, remarkably enough.

The re-cap: Clintoon wanted to get rid of Saddam, the Euro-weenies said, YEAH! Get rid of Saddam! So clintoon lobs a few missiles and problem solved! But now there's a real leader in the White House they know their goose is cooked. They will actually have to DO something about this menace Saddam. This explains all the whinning, hand wringing and down right cowardice.

With clintoon in office they all knew he'd never really do anything, so did Saddam.

Those days are so over!

With lightning speed the FEC fines the DNC for fundraising scandals involving contributions from China, Korea and other foreign sources. From 1996!

Do you know if this particular article has been posted as its own thread?

I have looked in vain and only found some short threads on the topic from the AP, but this linked article that you have provided has much more information.

Thank you very much!

What's the three words you never want to hear while making love?

"Honey, I'm home." (Ken Hammond)

"I am always looking for meaningful one night stands." (Dudley Moore)

"It's better to be black than gay because when you're black you don't have to tell your mother." (Charles Pierce)

Here are 2 threads on the fund-raising scandals, and I had trouble too in the search engine, so it's not working well, I think.

Democrats Are Fined $243,000 for Fund-Raising Violations (People's Republic of China and Clinton)

I agree so much with you, JL! I don't know how to stop it though. One day we'll all be living on a govt reservation.
