I'm glad that your trip went so well! I wish I could have tagged along. Did you get to have your international picnic? My husband is the real Civil War buff in this family, but I'm very interested in the subject myself and found your report fascinating. I'm sure your students caught your enthusiasm for the topic and learned quite a bit today. We've visited a number of battlefields, but haven't yet made it to Franklin. I'm definitely placing it on our list. What a sad, haunting story about Tod Carter. Thanks for providing the link to the site in an earlier post.

BTW, it was heartening to read that you such a pleasant day today, with all kinds of good stuff happening. It sounds like you're feeling better, too. I hope you do sign up for another term. You're obviously a benefit and a blessing in the lives of your fortunate students. Have a great weekend!
