I think you underestimate the power of credit cards. It is also possible that Damon is a hot shot trouble shooter, or does "sensitive" installations (overseas travel?).

The idea that they are living beyond their means is unfounded since no one knows their income, but only guesses.

It is also possible that Brenda brought in significant income with her book biz. Brenda comes from a working class family, but Damon's mother was/is a high level executive in a publishing company. I don't have any info on his Dad's occupation.

BTW, was the BMW story ever confirmed? or is it just more FDA propaganda?

I also think the parsing of statements taken out of context is extreme to the point of ridiculous.
