The news as reported in The Washington Times:
[Note All links go to The Washington Times website.]
1. President Bush is pushing the Congress to have an early vote on war with Iraq. President Bush also said the world should take its cue from the United States, and not the other way around.
[WOO HOO!! And if the demonflops want to discuss anything else in the election cycle other than Iraq, they will want to vote quickly too.]
Bush pushes Congress on Iraq vote
2. Even though CIA Director Tenet has been at war with Al Qaeda since 1998, there were only 5 CIA analysts working the problem on September 11, 2001.
[Ah, oops.]
Few CIA analysts put on al Qaeda case
3. The United States is drafting a UN Security Council resolution that would put inspectors in Iraq quickly, and not allow that Nation to declare Presidential Palaces off limits.
[Instead of wasting valuable time with the UN, we should just leave and take care of business.]
U.S. works to assemble inspectors quickly
4. The number of Roman Catholics in the South is increasing, there are more evangelicals than folks thought, and less Muslims, according to a recent religious survey.
[Interesting.]
Number of Muslims in U.S. below estimates
5. The airlines are again before Uncle Sam with their hand out, this time ahead of warlike action. They are asking Washington to make sure they are financially healthy in the event a war with Iraq hurts their revenues.
[Unbelievable. If an airline cannot remain viable in the marketplace, it should expire.]
Airlines ask U.S. to ease war costs
6. Officials in King Georges county, Virginia, are placing all of their public records online, without any security. Anyone with web access will be able to find out anything about King Georges county residents, including social security numbers, signatures, and so on.
[Astonishing!! The county has said they will no longer upload documents until SSNs are redacted, but those in the database now will remain until someone complains. Unbelievable.]
County Web site spurs fears for privacy
7. In France, calling Islam stupid will get you jail time. Just ask Michel Houellebecq, who is facing one year in prison and a $51,000 fine for doing just that.
[But its all right to say Israel is stupid.]
French writer faces jail for calling Islam 'stupid'
We shall not rest until we have cut a swath 60-miles wide through the entire left - taking all that is before us with us as we go. We shall leave nothing to the enemy that may be of value to him. We shall show him that he may count on nothing and will be able to keep nothing, not his spirit, not his soul, not that upon which he shall feed. We shall not cease until the moment we have rent through their entire land and have arrived at the sea, with our glorious victory upon us.
