Funny thing is, this time I don't think so.
The demonflops desparately want to change the subject and talk about the economy and stock market. They have been reading the polls and understand the Iraq issue has traction and is now having an effect on mid-term elections (latest polls show a Republican advantage). They also know the public: (1) highly supports the President (70%); (2) overwhelmingly supports going to war with Iraq (83%); and (3) is not buying the "wag the dog" argument put forward by the demonflops (69% do not believe it).
The ONLY way for the demonflops to change the subject is to take the subject off of the table, and the only way to do that is to have a vote on it. And they would have to do it quickly, or they won't have much time to talk about what they want between now and November. So, they'll vote, and quickly.
