FINALLY, FROM the City of Angels: Former President Bill Clinton always enjoys a high profile when he visits the land of lotus eaters. Last week at Hollywood's ultra-trendy Maestro's Steak House, Mr. Clinton dined with "Gangs of New York" superstar Leonardo DiCaprio and Leo's young lady, Sara Foster, the daughter of composer David Foster. A good time was had by all. I bet Bill will be among the lucky first to see Leo's coming Martin Scorsese epic. Clinton never lacks for hot dinner companions when he pit-stops in Hollywood. Perhaps that's because denizens of the movie industry are always in the process of re-inventing themselves in some fashion - even if it's just the monthly Botox injection. If you have the charisma and smarts to work your way out of a messy situation, more power to you, all is forgiven.
In New York, Bill's wife, Sen. Hillary Clinton remains a hard-working sphinx - no movie stars in her radar - while rumors swirl about her presidential ambitions.

Bill Clinton let out his inner crooner Sunday in Toronto.
The former President flew there for a party for Ronnie Hawkins, the beloved Arkansas rocker who's fighting pancreatic cancer. With composer David Foster on piano, Clinton treated the small gathering at the Four Seasons Hotel to Leon Russell's soulful "A Song for You." He also joined Foster and Paul Anka in a reworked version of "My Way," which featured Bill belting, "I did it Hillary's way!"
B.J. Cook, Foster's songwriting ex-wife, says Clinton told her, "I was a choirboy with a three-octave range."
Clinton nipped out of the party to have dinner downstairs with Whoopi Goldberg and Belinda Stronach, the CEO of Magna International, whose father, Frank, is an FOB.
Then it was back upstairs. Word is he stayed up till close to 4 a.m., jotting down Hawkins' ribald stories from his tour days. Says Cook: "When he left, he kissed Ronnie on the head and said, 'I love you, my friend.'"
