If you are talking about some cover-up of supposed abuse of Elizabeth, we'll never know that. But, about your idea that she felt she had to leave b/c of something that was happening at home, supposing that were true, do you really believe she could have stayed hidden all this time, without a trace?

No one WANTS to know that. But if it's true (and it's the same as having to leave because of "something that was happening at home,") yes, it's possible she's hiding out with assistance.

BTW, this theory is not debatable here or anywhere, because if true, it will never be publicly acknowledged. Therefore, if true, all the suppositions on this thread to the contrary, are null and void and useless.
