Why do you have no trouble believing this of Lois, but can't even think of believing it about Angela Ricci?

Believing WHAT of Lois? I said nothing derogatory about her. There are millions of wives/mothers out there who in complete denial about what happens in their own homes. Some know and suspect, but choose to remain silent, hoping the bad things will resolve themselves.

I never said you said anything derogatory about Lois. What you said is a theory, as good as many others. But another theory is that Angela Ricci was denying, perhaps to herself as well as to others, what she might have known of her own husband's illegal activities. She, too, may have hoped that the bad things might resolve themselves.
