We're all burning with white-hot jealousy of the Riccis, varina. We all feel very cheated. We have never known the wonderful feeling of warmth and absolute content that comes when the needle delivers its precious elixir into the vein. Many of us have never had the pleasure of gazing out the window of our single-wide at friendly neighbors like Pete Romero, as he strolls along, smiling and keeping an eye out for young, tender jailbait. We have never had the pleasure of watching our loved one slowly sink face-down into a well-prepared meal. We have never experienced the proud parental satisfaction of watching our innocent little boy struggling to rank his daddies from best to second-best, and on down. We have never known the earthy pleasure of listening to our loved one puke his guts up in the john as he goes through withdrawal. We have never seen the look of adoration on a beloved's face, as we paid the last penny on his resitution for the food he took from the homeless people. We have never snapped a cute picture of our beloved in an orange jumpsuit, cuffed at the wrists.

Snobbish? Hardly, varina. Just envious of their once-in-a-lifetime love, wistfully watching Rick mouth to Angela, across the courtroom, the words, "I could not love thee, dear, so much, loved I not honor more."
