You are correct, MM. I read that book ("Not Without My Daughter") many years ago and made a point to watch the Sally Fields movie, and have seen it several times now. It is an excellent telling of the story of this woman's predicament, and of the dangers inherent in these types of situations. Scary, scary stuff.

The sad thing is that for every happy ending, like Betty's, there are many sad and terrible endings for many other women.
