Does anyone remember when the Ricci's said they got up and heard the news on TV News? I thought they said it was earlier than this, and this was radio, not TV.

My memory is that Angela said they were having their coffee at about 6:30 a.m., and this came on the news. I don't think she specified, but I got the impression she meant they were looking at TV while drinking their coffee.

This information should be on one of the transcripts of one of Angela's Larry King appearances with her lawyer Smith.

I think this is accurate, as is the release of the Rachel alert at 7:10am. Utah Girl dug this up once before and probably remembers the specifics. The difference is that it was a local news story until 7:10am when it became a national story.

trussel's information is new and puts things in a different light. It states that nobody had the alert until 7:10. There was some speculation that Uncle Tom got it out earlier because of his connections but that has never been shown to be true.

Nancy Pomeroy

Nancy Pomeroy didn't just come around when Rick went to the hospital. She has been the Ricci P.R. spokesman since at least mid-July. I noticed some time back statements by a P.R. spokesman for the Riccis and thought at the time it quite bizarre that they could afford a P.R. person. You'll see in this article she originally identified herself as P.R. spokesman for the attorney, Smith. I would assume he has had Pomeroy coaching Angela to keep her from slipping up and landing him in jail, what with the allegations he was asking witnesses to destroy evidence and all, and he's since disassociated himself from Pomeroy's relationship with Angela to protect himself. She has obviously coached Angela on how to convincingly use her psycopathic talent to lie her way out of this. If you do a search of her name on deseretnews.com you'll see she appears in many articles going back to this one on July 15:

A spokeswoman for Ricci's attorney David K. Smith said Monday that Ricci maintains his innocence.

"Basically the position hasn't changed," Nancy Pomeroy said. "Mr. Ricci says it wasn't him."

Actually most of the search results weren't all Nancy Pomeroy. She did just come back to involvement when Rick went in the hospital. She is not identified in any of the articles as a hospital employee, they all identify her as the Ricci family spokesperson.

I can remember discussing the timing of when Ricci claimed to have seen the news about Elizabeth on TV. There might have been a discrepancy, but who knows. whenigettime and I did some research, the TV stations couldn't remember exactly when they broadcast their first reports here in Utah, I kept getting back emails from them saying 7:10 am.

The chief said police had interviewed Mary Catherine four times, and the little girl "hasn't wavered one bit from her original statement to us." But Dinse made it clear that police are withholding information.

"We are not telling you everything," he said. "We probably aren't going to until we are further along and have identified some people."

"[Mary Catherine] saw the individual, but how good a look she got at his face we are not clarifying," Dinse said.

"She heard the voice and whether she recognizes it or not I'm not going to clarify. We are not putting out a composite [drawing] and we are not clarifying why we are not putting out a composite."

Asked why police were keeping so much information close to their chests, Dinse said it is only "for reason of the investigation."

Tuesday, police released a more detailed description of the suspect, which Dinse said resulted from the interview with Mary Catherine.

Capt. Scott Atkinson described the suspect as a white male, 30 to 40 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10, with a medium build and dark hair. He had dark hair on his arms and the back of his hands, Atkinson said.

In addition, he was wearing a polo-brand shirt, tan pants, a tan cap, dark shoes and a light-colored jacket. He was carrying a small handgun, and was calm but concerned that the victim not make any noise that would awaken her family, he said.

"We believe that this person may be a trusted person in the neighborhood or in the community. [It] might be someone ... that had reason to be here, that had reason to come across the family, all those kind of things we still believe," Atkinson said.

Dinse said Wednesday that police still wanted to question Bret Michael Edmunds, a 26-year-old drifter who was reportedly seen in the area days before the abduction. Police say Edmunds is not a suspect, however.

Law enforcement officials told CNN Tuesday a surveillance tape from Shriners Hospital, not far from the Smart's neighborhood, has been sent to an FBI lab in Quantico, Virginia, for enhancement.

A surveillance camera in the parking lot of the hospital can pick up some activity on Virginia Avenue, which is the main road in and out of Federal Heights.

Sherlock Note - the fact they could pick up some activity on Virginia Avenue was significant because they got a clear shot of the 2nd car after it left the parking lot, went down Virginia Avenue and then did a U Turn and came back up Virginia Avenue in range of the camera.

For what it's worth, KSL is both a radio station and a TV station. You will see this if you check the Smart case thread on the True Crime board. It gives both KSL radio and KSL TV as news sources for the case.

Hello, scaredkat. I'm not really into the doings of PsiTech, but I did see where their search at the old Indian burial site made the newspapers. I'm still wondering about your experience in Brighton last June, and about the search that occurred in West Jordan at that man Miller's former home.

Brigette was on here a day or so ago, trying to pinpoint some address, and I think I saw that Utah Girl suggested the address was in the ski area, Brighton. I still don't know what Brigette was getting at with that address, but I found it interesting. Did it have anything to do with the mine, and the area you searched up there? I sure wish someone could go into that mine! But they can't do it w/o the owner's permission, unless they're police with a warrant.
