Elizabeth Smart thread, August 31-September 7, 2002
Posted on 08/31/2002 10:26:34 AM PDT by IamHD
My prayers go out to the Ricci family during this time. RR was sent up the river and used as a scape-goat. No evidence, whatsoever, linking him to the disappearance of Elizabeth.
May he rest in peace.

I had never seen Angela Ricci before, but I have to say that I was impressed. And I don't think I was being conned.I don't think you were being conned, jengaio. The cameras have a unique way of capturing the truth and it would be pretty difficult for anyone to maintain the poise Angela did tonight, knowing she was being scrutinized by millions of viewers.
Someone might be able offer a facade in a quick sound bite, but not on an hour-long program answering probing and hurtful queries.

Why was Richard Ricci treated so abominably in prison when he was charged with nothing more than parole violation? Why was he placed in solitary next to death row? Why did they keep him shackled even while he was in a coma near death? Aren't you distoring the facts again? In addition to the parole violation, Ricci had 3 new state charges including being a habitual criminal and 3 new federal charges for armed bank robbery. Ya, they really should have turned him loose on the unsuspecting public.

So? Have you read everything that's ever been published, sandude? If not, and you suddenly read it, it would be "news" to you. Can you absorb this logic? Varina, it's OK to read something like this that you were unaware of. I was just cautioning you that something more recent on the subject might be available.

I would like to contribute to any Angela Ricci fund that may have been started. If you hear of one, let me know. A fool and his (her) money are soon parted, LOL.
To: Utah Girl
I still think Angela Ricci is a pretty good con artist.Do you still want me to type one up?

two sack lunches and a box dinner - she didn't sign a release to "pull the plug" (who did?)- He became ill at 7:30; they called her at 9:30; he was taken to the Med Center at 11 p.m.- He was housed next to death row in maximum - Comment: They got married in February. I realize a little Grecian Formula will change a guy's appearance, but Ricci aged 20 years in less than six months. - When Angela called Moul's to talk about repairs to the Jeep (no wonder Ed ditched it - it was always in the shop!); Moul said he had 2 or 3 white jeeps there at that time. -The "milk this thing " telephone call to Angela was in poor taste, as was Nancy Grace's veiled accusations sitting three feet away.Glad you saw all this, too. I said a long time ago that Moul seemed like the type who would say what he thought people wanted to hear. It seems to be turning out that a lot of his witnessing was a lot of speculation and observations from a distance.
I'd bet the south 40 that Angela gained a huge, supportive following tonight -- as well she should.

Thanks, but don't hurry on my account. I forgot LKL would be rebroadcast this evening.
To: Neenah
If you have time, if not, I can wait for the rebroadcast and the transcript.
To: Bella
Can't wait til the lawsuit hits! She'll never sue anybody and you can take that to the bank.

And I don't think I was being conned. (Of course, if you are being conned, you don't think so, but that's another debate.) I bought into the Angela sob story, hook, line and sinker during her first TV interview about six weeks ago. I thought she was credible and another victim in this case. Only later did I learn of her convictions. Druggies are con artists by nature. She and Ricci were a match made in heaven or somewhere.

I'm pretty cynical. I've seen Angela Ricci on local broadcasts here, and have not been impressed, especially when she read her statement after Richard died. I sound coldhearted, but that is the way I see it. I'm looking forward to tonight's interview.

kook, From the looks of your info on the web per google search, I think you just summed up yourself nicely! Get a life!

I thought it was very kind of Neenah to offer to type up her notes, and I do appreciate it. Thanks again, Neenah.

"Ya" is spelled "yeah." And that is the defense of your lame post?
