Why do you think it was an imposition for Elizabeth to have to sleep in the same bedroom with her little sister? Do you have daughters? I raised 2 daughters who were the same age difference in years as Elizabeth and her little sister. They could have had their own rooms but they chose to be together. My older daughter mothered her little sister, helped her get ready for bed, read to her, and told her stories. She still looks after her little sister even now that they are grown and have children of their own. The younger one still goes to her for advice. Sometimes that's just the way sisters are. I don't believe I ever heard the words used that the my oldest daughter felt that her younger sister was in any way a burden or imposition to her. They enjoyed each other's company. I often think of how different their lives would be today if they had not had a sister and I am so thankful that I had two daughters. What a joy they have been to each other.
