My prayers go out to the Ricci family during this time. RR was sent up the river and used as a scape-goat. No evidence, whatsoever, linking him to the disappearance of Elizabeth.

BTW, it's apparent that you don't want to hear facts/truth of what's being said, and possibly if you did read other boards, YOU wouldn't be able to control what's being said, get it!? Must want to hide plenty! HAHAHA

I think that the Smarts have toned it down because now with the media spotlight on other missing kids, Elizabeth would now have to compete with poor and middle class white, black and hispanic kids for media attention. You know, the "Unwashed Masses".

There is still the $25K and $250K rewards out there. There are two $3K rewards. One is for information about the second attempted break in at Lois' sisters house. If it was a prank then $3K would certainly smoke out some teenager who knew who did it. The information about the chair wasn't in the press but Elizabeth’s cousin could have told some of her friends about it. As for the other reward, $3K might sound awful good to someone from Ricci's crowd who may know something. You could buy a lot of drugs with that.
As a starting point the $3K sounds good. You wouldn't want to pay $25K to some teenager who exposed a prank. If it doesn't smoke anybody out they could always increase it later.

Why do you and Bella and Varina always post these dated articles as if they were new. Don't you think that the authorities have looked extensively into the family by now? Why do you people hate the Smarts so much? You'll come back and say, "Oh we don't hate them, there is just so many unanswered questions". Read some of your posts tonight. You people sound like a lynch mob. GET SOME FACTS to back up your accusations. At least those of us in the RICCI IS THE GUY club have a good circumstantial foundation for our speculation. We had a reasonable debate on the Ricci died thread today. You guys over here are foaming at the mouth.
None of us know what has or has not been investigated.

When you compare the California cases to this one, you see a tremendous bond between the primary law enforcement people and the abducted child, on one hand, and spins on the other. When he announced Avila's arrest , Mike Carona actually said that Samantha Runnion had become everyone's daughter. In all these cases, there is an unrestrained, determined effort to investigate, pursue, arrest, indict, prosecute, convict, etc BECAUSE A CHILD HAS BEEN HARMED.
To this date, SLCPD has not met in the public's eyes this burden of responsibility. Edmunds, Ricci, and the others put out in the public's view have not been structured as viable perpetrators, and incredibly, the police chief and prosecuting agencies have never made one credible performance in reporting progress or a even theory of the case. So it is natural that all of us would look at this case in the same way we look at the Ramsay case (protected wealth) or the Levy case ( protected federal personality).
And every time any of us open and visit this thread, the same penetrating reality persists --a gifted 14 year old girl is missing from her family home, yet it is very hard to find any public figure speaking for her, as the primary focus. Carona articulated the outrage of a whole country, on behalf of Samantha Runnion; the San Diego prosecutors spoke on behalf of Danielle Van Dam --who is speaking for Elizabeth Smart? and why does this question even arise? what institutions, or equities, or personalities are more important than a vigorous prosecution of this case?
Some have offerred that since LE had Ricci stashed, they were just waiting for corroborative evidence to build a fool proof case ---well, if that is true, and if he really was a viable perp, LE needs to come forward with suitable disclosure. As for the family, don't many of us still have the same questions Mark Klaas asked so directly?
You sound as if you believe the Smarts are running the SLPD and the FBI. Might as well throw in the Utah State Government and the Mormon Church as well. What about President Bush? Where's he getting his orders from?
There are two sides to this sketch business.
What sketch? I don't think that MK saw the perps face. I know that I'm wasting band space stating this but what evidence do any of you have that MK saw the perps face? MK fiened sleep while the perp was in the bedroom. When she saw him in the other part of the house she didn't get a good look at the guys face. Why is this so hard to believe?
Now for the other side. MK did get a good enough look to provide Jeanne Boylan with the material she needed to make a sketch but they don't release it. Why? Because the guy is already in jail and there is no point in releasing it to the public. All that would do would be to prejudice a potential jury.
If the sketch is of someone in the group that you mention above then we would have to reason that the entire investigation was corrupt We would also have to believe that the press is either totally corrupt or completely stupid. At least with Ricci there is some circumstantial evidence. Wait for some evidence, even circumstantial evidence of wrongdoing before you jump to any conclusions. You won't look foolish if you do that.
What??? Just because somebody is from SLC then you are going to accept what they say as gospel? This is the internet Bella. BS is often the norm. I'll bet if I had some of my friends from SLC post on those boards you wouldn't believe them? Why not? Because they don't have anything bad to say about the Smart family or the church.
