I would like to see the teams chosen the way we used to choose teams for softball.

Two captains are selected by Probst, then these two alternate picks from the remaining pool of players to form the teams.

A few interesting things could turn out:

1) The aquaintences created before the selections would have to be put aside while the captains select people on their perceived ability.

2) The captain could even select someone first on the physical attraction they have for another player, leading to passion between them, and anger from the rest of their tribe.

3) The captain thinks he becomes the de-facto, self-appointed tribe leader and is shocked when he is booted early for pushing people around.

4) The tribe mates all know who was selected first (by game survivability), and these people might be voted out in the same order with the bottom 5 forming an immediate alliance. Of course, this would cause the 4th player to realize he is screwing himself when he realizes he would be the fourth person booted.

5) The captain is blamed by the rest of the team for any lazy POS that winds up on the team.

6) Probst could pick a fat-headed, wanna-be leader (Daschole or Hillary types) to be the team selector, driving an interesting intra-team confrontation between the captain and the person on that team who has the true leadership skills.

7) Then the surprise is that the captain who wins the on-the-spot sudden death mini immunity challenge gets first pick on the site on which the tribe will live, after everyone had the opportunity to visit both sites. This will drive the loser team to hate the captain and the crappy site they were stuck with.
