I think you've pretty much hit the nail on the head. Women = verbal. Men = spatial.

I admit, I would love to be better at spatial. I know it's not absolute, my sister-in-law is pretty good at spatial, but all you have to do is spin me around a couple of times, and I am lost, totally lost! I've learned when I get lost the best thing to do is go opposite of what I think is the right direction!

Don't count me in the verbal. I'm much better at spatial than the verbal, and I'm a woman.

Now, consider this: I (a female) am unusually good at jigsaw puzzles. But I have absolutely NO sense of direction. I still need a map to get around town, and I've lived here more than 10 years. So I don't know what my problem is. :-)
