What the Libertarian advocates don't understand is that 3rd party movements are most efficacious in the primaries only. If, say, 22% of the voters in a primary election voted for either the Libertarian or the Communist Party candidate, then the Democratic candidate in the general election would be more amenable to the moral-liberal social causes those constituents care a lot about.

Question.  What do you think would happen if a large majority of the conservative base decided to boycott the next elections and stay home?

Would the RNC continue down the path they are on, or would they try to figure out what went wrong and make changes?

 

Rewarding inappropriate behavior begets more inappropriate behavior.
